Burn Ban in Effect for Indian River County
Due to the dry conditions within Indian River County, Indian River County officials, in a coordinated effort with Indian River County Fire Rescue and Florida Forest Service, effectuated a county-wide burn ban today, April 27, 2017. The county-wide, mandatory burn ban prohibits all outdoor burning that has not been specifically permitted by the Florida Forest Service. Bon fires, campfires, and the burning of vegetative (yard) debris is prohibited until further notice. All residents are advised to report any outside burning to 9-1-1. This declaration will be revisited every 7 days and renewed as necessary to ensure the safety of our residents. More Information
Notice of Computer System Maintenance

In our efforts to improve customer service, the computer system for the Building Department, Planning Department, Fire Prevention, and Engineering will be upgraded to a new server. The system will be down for approximately 5 hours starting at 8:00 AM. The following systems will be temporarily affected both in-person and online: Permitting, Inspections, Planning, Contractor Licensing, Utility Permitting, and Code Enforcement. Staff and all other county systems will be available.

Water Conservation and Drought Conditions

The St. Lucie HOME Consortium invites residents and non‐profits located on the Treasure Coast to participate in a community needs survey to gather information from the public on needed community facilities and services in Indian River, St. Lucie and Martin counties. The information will be used to establish recommendations in the Consolidated Plan and the First Year Action Plan to be submitted to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). Beginning April 1, 2017, maintenance of the hydrant system has moved into the North Vero Beach area and will continue over the next two months. This area includes Wabasso and Winter Beach. Hydromax, the county’s contractor, will be conducting the maintenance program. During the maintenance period, hydrants will be flushed, repaired and repainted. More Information
Public Notice of Park Closure
Round Island Riverside Park will be closed from May 2nd 2017 through May 16th 2017 for pavement resurfacing.
The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) continues to support the State of Florida through the Florida Division of Emergency Management, in support of disaster survivor recovery from Hurricane Matthew. NFIP policy holders affected by Hurricane Matthew are reminded by the State and FEMA to submit a Proof of Loss within 120 days of their flood loss.
